mr bandit is a meddling twat
ive had running problems which point to the solex carb on my bx trs 19
so hes found me this

which is a weber carb which he tells me is better
now im trying to find out whether it'll fit
as in what other bits and pieces i need to make it work on me car
thats assuming its the right one
stuff like choke bits
errrrrrrrr and other stuff
me head hurts now and i still dont know

If it does fit, buy it. A much superior instrument, that once set up, is trouble free for ages.
Hopefully it's a twin venturi job which will give you more horses and use less fuel
(yes even the autochoke models).
I worked on several types of Weber in the 70's. The other good thing about them was that the instructions for fitting and setting up were deadly accurate
They were all over £100 even then.

I'd stick the carb on the BX and not get a DS myself..
Or, get a BX that doesn't have a carb..

On that interesting opinion, Charlie was on about chucking in a GTi engine, which physically would be a doddle, but I assume electrically would be a bit of a shitter unless you can get the complete set-up from a donor. How would it work loom wise, as in, presumambly plug and play, but it'd mean running ecu and sensor looms all over the place

Actually quite easy, it is all plug in, and it's a fairly straightforward fitting up job..

and since i havent got a gti engine
or a ds yet (and when i do get one i'll park it outside bandits every night)
i might just have a go at with the weber
does it matter if its not an autochoke carb
will ask the seller if it has or not

was on the citroen parts site trying to cross reference numbers and parts from solex to weber bits
and all i got was confused
now its startin again
