Re: G16VBX

I'm still working (sic) on my switchable supercharger. small leky motor driving the G/box off an air raid siren (the ratios are astronomical) drving a KKK turbo.
I have the motor and turbo up to now.
The idea is it would run normally until your need for speed becomes desperate. Then you just flick the switch and......and well it's still an idea yet.

Nope! Won't be either 'til the workshop gets built at home, and that'll be a while...

Still got to get planning permission for the driveway!

Seems the Driveway and home workshop are on hold for the time being, the whole planning permission thing has just got ridiculous! All down to removing a 10' section of wall. So, it's going to have to wait until next year when i can afford the £2500 total price tag it's all gonna carry... that's before i even build the workshop (which doesn't need permission).

No too depressed though, after chatting with one of the locals yesterday i managed to bag me a nice big workshop just down the road

Big enough for 2 cars, loads of storage and best of all I can work on them in it. Trailering the valver over next week so (when i have time) i can actually make progress! :D

Lovely jubbly, thats a big ole space, i certainly wouldn't turn my nose up at it!

Does look rather like it is space prized from the ground screaming and kicking.

Nice one Jay. What's security like for leaving tools in situ etc.

That'll b the old Cornish walls giving you that impression Vanny (incidently, th same type of wall currntly holding up the driveway plans)

No security issues Phil, the owner livs in viewing distance, this village is pretty sleepy with loads of curtain twitchers and if that's not enough, the fuck-off steel doors and big-ass lock should do the trick! ;)

The only drawback is no eleccy, but i'll pick up a decent generator in due course,

Astonishingly, it's just 50 quid a month, just a tenner more than the shitty council lock-up the Valver is currently languishing in (and i can't evn work on it there).

Looks good :) Only thing I'd say is that I think welding (if planned/needed) from a generator has problems - I blew up a welder once this way and apparently it's a no-no from a normal generator! Can't remember the details though.

There is a unit you can buy that stabilises the generated current. I've heard the words shunt, choke and bastard machine said on occasion, but they be elektrikery terms of which I have no knowledge. No doubt you elektrikers will know what it is.
anyone in this position could do worse than get hold of a self contained Genny/Welder such as an ESAB. :D

Both the Valver and Athena are up for sale as projects. Details to follow, you know where to direct any early enquiries.

Because quite frankly I'm sick of it just sitting there! By the time I'd ever get round to it, half the parts i'd need won't be available! And after 10 years of ownership, the novelty's worn off. Time to cash my chips in.

Sounds exactly how i feel

I also find I get no enjoyment out of the 'scene' any more. I'd rather have a Landy and a bit of a laugh at the same time!

Current plan is to get it back on its wheels this weekend, then use it for a year and take it from there.

But I suspect i'll be selling up before the 2nd sprog arrives

I have a chap FLYING down from Glasgow tomorrow, very interested in taking the whole lot... apparently.

Suspect it's just a wind up from one of the little boys I upset on Facebook! Not holding my breath.
