I also assume non ABS hub right?

As i'm assuming Mark is currently on the "Wales" holiday and can't reply...
I'll also assume he'll accept my offer of assistance.
Yes Vanny it's OS and by model i'd assume it's non-ABS. But, aren't the hub's the same? If so, i can just take a spare sensor with me and fit it if required.
So, if someone's got the hub i'll get it at the weekend, i'm sure mark will be happy to furnish beer tokens upon ye.

Isn't this the 1600 meteor he had a while back? I'd be surprised if that had ABS...

I agree it's unlikely!

I had a late 92 Meteor and that had no ABS.

Fuck 'im??
Fuck 'im???????
Fuck 'im???????????????
is that an offer?
Anyway you sheepdipped lifter... I think the being on holiday in Wales bit probably negates the possibility of a reply from Mark...
I've no problem who assists, i happen to be only down the road and he sounds on the edge with it. I doubt he took it on holiday with him as he's probably concerned at taking it any distance in case the bearing breaks up.
Now drop and give me twenty BOY!!!

the hubs the same, but the hub carrier isn't, there's an cut out and a threaded hole for the ABS sensor.
They are interchangable as a unit, BUT if the car has ABS (which ok is unlikely but not unheard of) you can't fit an ABS sensor to a non ABS hub carrier..

If we knew where he lived, or where the car was, we could just go do it!

Bugger, i thought they all had the sensor hole (in all fairness tho, the only non-ABS BX i owned was a tasty 16RS.... Shed...)

How long do you reckon it would take him to notice the problems had gone? We could just make him think they'd miraculously fixed themselves...

Give him a right complex...

Like the idea!
Oh, and by the way I'm off in holiday in a week and a half's time, I'll have to post up my address plus a list of car problems. There's a few fences need putting up too...

Very quick post from me. Thanks to all those who've offered help and advice
![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
. I'm in Cowbridge until tomorrow, so it's possible I could swing by Llantrisant in the morning Bandit to pick up your spare hub (and bearing if you've got one to press in - beer tokens available). Doc has my mob number but otherwise send me a PM with your number, addy and postcode and I'll try and log in later.
Cheers,
Mark.

Mnde, yes, pop round. Is it left hand side or right hand side?
Do you want new bearing and lower ball joint ?
p.s. I assume it is non ABS? If you want a new ball joint you can go cheaper £9 or OE for £15. If you're keeping the car, I'd def spend the extra £6.
The bearing is £27 but it's OE also. Fitting is gratis

Ehup? I'm in Cardiff taking a quick respite while Lucy's trying on some dresses, and Orange has deigned to give me full signal. I like having an internet phone! (lucy's old one) But signal is v weak in Cowbridge, compared to my other phone which is Voda (with no internet). I miss the BX when I'm not driving it! Bandit, you have PM in a sec. Mark

I lied! Lower Ball joint OE can be got for just under £10!

Yesterday I made the short trip to Bandit's house from Lucy's parents' in Cowbridge - via Partco in Bridgend to pick up a balljoint as ECP were out of stock of the Lemforder ones. Had a nice cuppa and a chat and then out to the garage. I came away with a hub fitted with a new bearing and balljoint and a RH driveshaft to try out on the car
It was good to meet you mate and thanks once again for your help and hospitality.
I'm now back home in leafy Surrey, so Jay, thank you, I'd like to take you up on your offer of help if we can arrange something.
Hope everyone has a good time at the National (even Doc who decided to go in the end I hear)
Cheers,
Mark.
