The reflectors have been painted yellow, it works very well indeed. It looks the absolute bollocks, and it's a much more pleasant light to drive with too.

The inner face of the reflector seems to be yellow, so I guess it's been painted...

Not sure you'd need to remove the glass TBH, I reckon with a small artists brush you could do it through the hole in the back of the unit where the bulb goes like...

Why so?

The reflector is right there in front of you when the bulbs out, and it's only small...

NO NO NO.
Not the fuck off big reflector thing, the bulb, er, reflector, the thing what actually focuses the light outpout from the bulb onto the reflector thing, like..

The fucking silver thing that sits infront of the bilb, that fucking reflector thing, fucking hell.

Ah.... hang about....

Ah, I think I need to look at Smiffy's car again, I think his lights are a little different...

Infact I rather get the impression, having just looked at mine that SMiffy's lights have an added reflector that surrounds the front end of the bulb.....

Just to bump the thread...

Much as I love the XM, I'm inching towards parting with it. It's just costing too much - both on fuel and insurance.

I think BX or ZX turbodiesel is the way forward... although I don't imagine ZXs will take so kindly to veg oil?

If anyone sniffs out a suitable car, do give me a shout!
Cheers,
Stu

BX 17 RD for the Win!!!!!

As for 2CV, yes they are good on fuel, fun to drive etc.

A girl i know was hit by a BMW 325 in her 2CV, impact just forward of the B post drivers side, spun and rolled twice, She walked away. The BMW had its roof cut off to get the guy out :)

Funny.
OK, so i've got some stuff, some of it goes, some of it doesnt, some of it never will again!

Why you should never trust a woman:
Volvo sounds like vulva
A vulva is part of a woman
You cant trust wimmin.
Dont buy a Volvo.

BTW, there's no reason why a TD ZX will not run veg oil Stu, they all have Bosch pumps.

Thanks Doc, that's worth knowing.

ZXs are pretty dull but they are dirt cheap to buy and insure and I did actually quite enjoy ragging Smiffy's one around!
Cheers,

ZX TD's aren't that dull mate, they go rather well.
Although a Volcane is really the way to go if you're going the ZX TD route.
They look good, dont suffer quite so much with rear subframe issues and have uber comfy seats.

The standard ones are dull to look at, but really rather good fun to drive! I agree, the Volcane additions make them really quite smart.

Oh dear... doing a quick ebay search and yes there is one ZX listed under "classic cars"
Cheers,
Stu
