The classic hole in the A pillar: Could this be left open so long as painted?

Now on to the o/s:

I seem to be getting the jist of this welding malarkey, so hopefully the o/s wont take me as long!!!

Forgot to ask...the 'mushroom' stylee bush for the lower arm has two reliefs in it, corresponding with two dimples on the top. Which orientation whould these be? :? I've done others before half way between horizontal/vertical...thought I'd ask for once :P

Fucking A!
Weldings looking good mate!
One small point though.. You appear to have not fitted the flange on the N/S inner wing for the oputer wing to bolt to??

Nice work though, you'll be finished before me at this rate (no progress at all this weekend since there is still no power on site)..
The wishbone "top hat" bush reliefs should be inline with the seam of the wishbone.
IE horizontal. Although I dont think it really makes much difference TBH.
More piccies required son!

The flange is there mate, admittedly it looks invisible from the angle I've photographed from. Thanks for the tip tho', would of been fun welding one on with all that underseal on! Oh, BTW, if you like the smell of oranges whilst you're welding, paint stuff in red oxide and then weld through it.....orange scented welding FTW!!

Thanks for the tip on bushes mate

Hammerite has a rather aramatic hue to it aswell!

Oh, yes, leave the bung out of the bottom of the A pillars, stops condensation and rist from the inside!

Whot do you keep doing to your valver dood? Talk about one extreme to the other......

Phil....er Uncle Phil, thank you mate. Much of this is down to you from the start mate. Not only have I learnt a great skill, but I am no longer filled with that 'Well, what the fuck do I do now.........?' feeling when I discover rusty shennanigans going on!

You've set me on the path to restore my Grandads Triumph, got a lot to learn yet but I'll post you piccies when I make a start!!! :P

It's not a great skill, it's the worlds most boring thing to do EVA. Although welding is invaluable when owning old crap!
I'm liking your work muchley old chap. And think we should have more pictures.

Piccies due when piccies can be made me olde matey! As in s-l-o-w-l-y and when I've ground away the shit bits and patched the holes and ground away the holes that didn't want to give a fuck and then patched the patch that was originally supposed to the single patch that ended up being ten patches..... :P Well...................you get my drift! I shall be doing 'something' tomorrow but I know not what. Mrs Bandit's Great Aunt in visiting from Swansea (together with her lesbian friend Eurgain (I call her Urine.... )) so I'll be twiddling my ball joints trying to paint the timing belt or summat

When you say Lesbian "friend" are we talking full on pair of rug munchers here?
If so, how old, and are they fit?
And would they like to be introduced to a 40 year old very cute and tidy lesbian?

Erm..........well the the great aunt is about 90ish and the Urine is 70 ish....I suspect that they are not true matress munchers, but just two old biddies living twixt Typhoo and death...but they get around in some Japanese stylee mobile type car thing.....I'll be sneaky and get a piccy tomorra!!!
