Woo Hoo - only 2.5 more years to go

Post by Father Ted » 15 Apr 2009

In the year 2013, every new car built in Europe will be equipped with internet connection, says a study from market researcher Invensity.

And I want this why exactly???? Well I suppose it makes AA autoroute much easier to use.

I have too much time on my hands and not enough work, well thats not strictly true, I have plenty of work, but just cant be arsed...

Tried that once and it was very very distracting, I almost crashed.

Nah, I bet it's so big brother knows where you are, and how fast you are going, so they can send you computer generated fines. Saves money on roadside cash machines that the local council/police use.

Thats not a trail Charlie, that shits fo real. The operating centre can also start the car for you if you have lost the keys. Problem is the service is UBER expensive and only fitted to very very high spec top class cars (BMW have it though).

:D What about this one then; The Picasso has been hesitating on pick up from light throttle.
It only happens randomly, lasts for a split second and then all is ok.

Last week it suddenly decided not to pick up at all. However it didn't cut out and was running higher revs, but with no response to the accelerator. This gave me about 18 mph in 3rd.
I stopped to try to find a solution and by chance rang Rigbye's the local Cit specialists.

He goes [chin] [chin] are your brake lights coming on when they shouldn't. I says err yes
I've noticed this for a week or two.
Right says he.... If you feel at the brake light sensor, near the pedal it will be loose push it back in and all may be ok
I did and it was. Apparently the computer is being told the brakes are on so no fuel is needed.

It's been recorded as an issue and there is a mod kit to cure it, but you have to buy it.

Turns out a modification was done on cars from August 03....mine's a July 03....wow what a surprise

So Citroen aren't expecting anyone to use enthusiastic heel-and-toe driving style on a Picasso....

In a aword... Erm no [no]

Which is a shame really coz it handles really well for a tall vehicule. It doesn't "roll" on cornering like the hacks that havn't driven one say.
In fact that is my only criticism really, to achieve this good handling the ride has suffered
and it's not a patch on the BX

Some years ago, it was reported that a German banker received a somewhat worried call from his carmaker. The downloaded running log seemed to have a malfunction. Briefly, what was happening was regular 218 to 221 MPH speeds being recorded on weekday mornings between 7 and 8 AM. He confirmed that at that time, he was on his way to work and would normally be travelling at that speed because he only actually raced his other F1, this log was for his road car.

I wouldn't worry unduly. The pricing satellites are nearly all up now and I'm still waiting for my internet connected 'fridge to arrive, as I was promised years ago.

Anyway, with the death of a certain Pig-faced waste of blood and organs (funny how terminal cancer respells that "National Treasure"), artificial intelligence is not what it was.

I was somewhat bemused at just how awful the design is.

:P They must've stiffened it up since your pop had his Vanny, coz I've lifted the inside rear wheel on mine.
I like the C8 too, especially those self closing doors. The ride is softer and I don't think it corners as well, I had to lift off before the wheel lifted  Even so It still didn't roll that much and tucked in quite smoothly.

I've said what I think of bm's before on here. Just like any other make ( with a few exceptions) they break down with alarming regularity :x
