it really is much too cold at the moment for me to do anything however, I did manage to find my spare pair of ABS driveshafts, and I also found a spare ignition/injection wiring harness... which I know isn't in perfect condition, but I know it works, and it hasn't been eaten by rats!

You don't have any rat eaten wiring! I wish you would stop using that as an excuse, its been proven wrong already. Bodged and buggered with wiring you have plenty of!

Then scrap it and move on.. I mean, FFS, the CX is a walk in the park compared to the bus, and I'm not crying about it..

Really? Not having worked on either I wouldn't know (so perhaps shouldn't comment!), but from the photos I've seen on your bus and what I've heard about working on CXs I'd prefer the bus! I don't like fiddly jobs where access is difficult - on the bus it looks like a lot of fairly basic engineering with reasonable access. That's not trying to demean your efforts in any way, I can see that there is a fuck of a lot of work to do due to the sheer size of it! Plus it seems to need a wider range of skills too - woodworking for the floor and suchlike.

Your not wrong Mat. However, If Smiffy is thinking of scrappage, he can scrap it my way
with the greatest of pleasure.

Good point Mat, but since the plan with the CX was to strip it right out, then really, all components would be on the bench / floor ready to rebuild, so fairly good access.
I reckon I've welded more metal into the bus than the CX has in total, so it's not that hard. Cars are easy!
If you've got good thermals..
