Start the car in work this evening, demist the screen, pull forward 30 feet, brm brm-brm-BRM-BRM-BRM-BRM OH FUCK!

Yup, run away engine! Luckily I stalled it before it went ape shit.
It seems the diaphragm in the fuel pump has finally failed, causing the intercooler to fill up with diesel, which it then injested. I'm very lucky it didn't hydraulic lock the engine!

The car will either be getting a new diaphragm, or the complete fuel pump from my green car.

Is no problem, you actually rang in the nick of time to stop me doing something I would have regretted anyway, so win win really..

Oh, what would that be? surely not going down warwick road and asking for "business"....

I won't ask then!! There is a good Bosch pump on the list of spares I just published if you need it mate. Metal pipwork and injectors too!

So you knew it was dodgy?

no, gthe car has always been gutless, but SMiffy reckoned it was the turbo, I wasn't convinced, but the run away rather confirmed it wasn't the turbo!
