sunroof rust

found this today,
cant believe I hadn't noticed it before but I suppose I am normally in the car when I open the sunroof,

is it best just to rub it down and hammerite it coz it looks a bit of a pig to get out

thats exactly what i did, found the plastic coating is quite shit and hadn't bonded very well to the surface. Under the surface rust the metal was fine so i hammerited it all when i first got the car!

It's only a cover plate, so yeah, I'd rub back, paint and waxoyl as much as you can get at.

The only way to do it properly is drop the roof lining.....
