Had a lot of help and advice on t'other side re my electric pump and lack of fuel return to the tank .
some of you have read and contributed but I know not everyone here go's over there.

If your adamant, get to a scrappy with a suitable age car in it and start pulling shit out.

It could be something as simple as a pulse damper given the relative proximity of the fuel pump!

the reason I wanted to get rid of the electric fuel pump was because of the mess they had made installing it , odd lengths of fuel pump all over the place and using a primer pump as a pipe connector etc

VW do one they used on the 1.6 mk2 golf with the pieberg carbs but Tim has heard of someone breaking an athena so may go for that
