BX Mk1 front foglamp surrounds

Post by bowei001 » 09 Jun 2012

Hi, I'm new to this forum but have had the BX from new (Red 1986 Mk1 16TRS Auto). I'm trying to find out whether the front foglamp surrounds are the same for the Mk1 and Mk2. The part nos for the Mk2 seem to be 95 632 026/025 but I can't find a part no for a Mk1 and my local Citroen dealer doesn't have any info on a Mk1. Does anyone know whether the surrounds (and, I suppose, the foglamps themselves) are the same for all marks and models of BX? Thanks for any info you can give me.

Yes, I have photos that I use for insurance purposes. Do I use photobucket to get them on the forum? If so, I'll post some.

Here are some photos of the car - not the best ones but all I could find at the moment. One owner, 45000 miles from new and unmodified (tow bar was fitted by the dealer).

Welcome mate. That motor is gorgeous no question and I love those early wheeltrims too. Andy has a spare set of those in the box I gave him.

welcome! bloody hell, thats lovely! REALLY lovely! I'm nursing a semi!

The surrounds are certainly different and probably near impossible to find now, although there does seem to be a lot of Mk1 stuff kicking about, it's just knowing where to look for it.. I think the lights themselves are different too, IIRC the Mk1 had the earlier cibie units that were shared with a Renault, although I forget which one.. the 4 maybe?

Thanks for all the kind comments on the car. Tomorrow I'll go to my local indi Citroen garage and have a chat. The last time I went there he seemed to have stockpiles of old BX (and other models) bits so he might have some surrounds and lamps hanging around.
