Post by Vanny » 24 Nov 2015

I see via facebook that Phil's old car is up for sale

Looks a little ropey from the pictures, but serviceable

I can't believe it's over 5 years since I sold it. The colour was always good though It didn't fade because I did it with polymer sealant 3 times a year and it was pretty rust free as everything was covered in Waxoyl. Gave it another thick coat before it went so it shouldn't be holy [chin]

one of the CX's was scrapped, the GTi Turbo went to the local Citroen specialists, which is where my C5 came from some time later!

:( Yeah it was a shame as I like CX's. He had a Honda 750 4 bike as well as I remember.
Did that ever get back together?

Must organise a trip down your end again, fucking ages since I met up with anyone and had a pint of buttcomb!!
The college has been taking up far too much of my time. Must send a memo to myself

Bit late response. Been across to Denmark to check out premises and their visa conditions.
Our Home Secretary has just about killed off our market here.

Yeah it was a 750 / 4 as I recall. Glad that didn't get scrapped. I still need some parts for my '61 BSA yet.

Hi Andy. Regretted parting with that car the minute I sold it.
Hows it getting on?
What did it fail on? If the guy who sold it to you gave you all the spares that were with it, you should be able to cover almost anything.

Hi Andy.
Yeah. Still breathing in and out mate. Glad to hear K39 is still in working nick.
Not sure about rims, others on here might know about any speedlines knocking about.
Don't say you kept those shit Pug alloys I stuck on it. I got them free after I damaged one of the standard steel rims on a 12" kerb. that jumped out on me. They were never meant to be permanent, I was going to replace the damaged one, refurbish and paint them and get some original trims.
I'm still on the same landline 01942 238411. and my mobile is 07903412169.

Yep they are still on there...but am thinking of going back to original steel rims mate...would like some of those real plain dustbin lid type rims...don't know what they're called but look proper retro French. ..The front valence got damaged when I hit a fox at 90mph on the A14 2years ago and the car came off the road not long after so I gotta get round to doing that... (put it on the feckkin list !!!!) But she still looks and runs lovely mate. ..are you on WhatsApp on ya mobile ? I'll send ya some pics if you are ...will call ya soon pal .
