Tried to order a fridge freezer last night, cos mine has blown up while i was away at the weekend and taken all the food with it. Tesco Direct website has a pretty good offer on, says they have a fair load of em in stock. So i goes to purchase said fridge freezer. Get nearly all the way through the 'payment section', and a generic error pops up (something about SAOapplication fail and then some shit with numbers and stuff). Calls the help line. Shaun tells me that the number is the wrong one, and i should have been given a free phone number for 'those' people, gives me the number and tells me i'm fucked though cos 'those' people fucked off half an hour ago.

Try calling the number, no one there.

Try going through the tediously lengthy process again, same failure.

Get in this evening, whoo hoo, offer is still on front page. Goes to buy it, none in stock. Try to find out when i can get one, answer is between fuck knows and some time in the future. No cocking use to me that is it! WANK.

Maybe i should go take TESCO its previously frozen food back for recycling. Would love to see there useless cunting faces!

I shop at Tesco regularly and had a similar experience about 3 years ago.

After registering my displeasure with everyone I had been involved with, I contacted Tesco head office and described my experience to a customer focussed person.??????
The result was I got my fridge at the offer advertised price and £50 worth of Tesco vouchers, to be spent on anything.

Result!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just been to Comet, Castle Brom, even fucking worse. Not to mention that there are about 40 odd mouthy swearing builders in there (no mention of that on the website), but every member of staff in there looked away when i tried to attract there attention.

I've done the sales thing for DSG/Currys/PCworld and the mantra there is that within 3 minutes a potential customer will have decided if he is buying or not, spent 20 minutes in Currys, Gallagher retail park, M6 J6 and didnt actually see a single fucking member of staff. I know there is a recession, but have they all sacked there staff.

I STILL have this fucking kettle I bought that didn't work.
Will they give me a refund?
Will they fuck, they wont to exchange it for another one.
Which is a bit pointless since I took it back the same day only to be told that customer services was closed and I had to bring it back during office hours, which is fine, except I aint been around during office fucking hours, so I bought ANOTHER fucking kettle that night.
So why the fucking hell would I want to exchange the original non working kettle for another one?
I already fucking have one.

If a product is faulty and within a reasonable period of buying it, they HAVE to give you a refund. End of story.

Sale of Goods Act, two important points:

1) The product must be of merchantable quality. (Your kettle wasn't as it failed)
2) The goods must be fit for the purpose for which they are sold. (your kettle wasn't as it didn't boil water)

I also believe the only right under the Act is your money back (not a replacement or a repair).

So quote the Act to them and they should buckle. If not report them to Consumer Direct or whatever the latest name for Trading Standards is!

Comet staff are no longer on commision for the extended warranty as i have recently found out, so they no longer give a shit and probably feel they are on a low wage. My experience of some of these larger electrical chains is that they are so wrapped up in policy it is almost impossible to get rid of shitty staff, so there really isn't much to work for other than take home pay.

I like Tescos (though their internet service has been site recently) as a few mates work for them and all the farmers round here seem to fucking despite them (Tescos) which can only ever be a good thing in my books.
