An Ode to Billy!

Post by docchevron132 » 08 Jul 2009

Got int he car this morning, stereo worked for about 5 minutes then died again, screen on, beep works, no fucking music emitting.
Got to the farm, ripped the unit out figuring it must be obvious, dry joint or something I thought, anyway, couldn't find anything obvious, so whilst it was live and plugged in with the lid off I had one of those "Right, thats IT" moments and was going to throw it across the yard, but since it was still plugged in, I hit it with a ball pein hammer instead.
Fuck me if it didn't burst into life!
Left it on all day until the battery died in the car, had it on all the way home, works perfect, so there we go, if it's broke, "do a Billy" guarenteed to rip that bastard a new shitter!

Cav will be proud of you being his tool of choice  but how come you didn't use the No6 coal shovel from your arsenal?

No No No [no] You cannot use coal shovels to hit things with (ok for people)

Fitters have a rage of hammers from a 2 handled 20kg sledge right down to a 200g plastic faced mallet.
The secret is choosing the right one.

One guy used to take a hammer catalogue with him when he went to the bog. rather than porn if you get my drift
OH yes there are drifts you can hit things with as well

LOL.
I used the ball pein as it was on the floor of the car at the time, it could have beena sledge hammer, that may have rendered a different result though!

See, my style of fixing things does work occasionally :)
I nominate Doc for BXPer of the month for that fix!
