My new toy...
Well, picked up the ebay purchase with the detailed description: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWNX:IT
Actually, asside of being utterley filthy it's actually a good motor!
A & C pillars, no rust! Boot Floor, Immaculate! Inner wings, Spotless! Engine is dry, pulls like a train and is as smooth as silk!
Other than being a rolling ashtray and needing a polish outside the only obvious faults are: Leak from (most likely) octopus, poor earth on rear lights, tear on drivers seat and erm, erm... that's really about it!
And the general condition along with the limited history supplied does actually suggest the 63k IS GENUINE!
Ba har gin!

The service history puts the mileage at just 34k in 2001 (10 years old) and an MOT puts it at 51k in 2006 so i'd say she's a genuine low miler!
TBH, the Zant's gotta go! It's in for an MOT tomorrow if i can get a booking and i've had interest in it locally.

Since they closed down Whittingham and Cane Hill there has been no shortage of spastic mentalists in the community, (the number of Saxo drivers is proof of this) so it shouldnt be too hard to sell the Xantia....
Like the TD.

Re: My new toy...
Well, i've now cleaned it up, i could have resurfaced the M25 with the tar that came off the dash and windows and there was more ash in it than you'd have found at Dachau! But, it did come up well.
The rear bumper was badly cracked (due to a caravan hitching incident), repairable but can't be arsed right now so it's got the spare Valver bumper on it. Of course, I could hardly fit the rear without the matching front.
I've also finally found a use for the BNIB pram-handle spoiler i've had kicking around for ages so that's painted and on it too.
It's definitely low mileage but i suspect that after it's original owner sold it in 2001 it just hasn't been looked after, infact it doesn't appear to have been serviced for a few years (soon to be rectified).
Have to say i'm well chuffed with it in general. Need to make some more personalising adjustments though... Wanted post coming soon!

The pasty warmer is also, simultaneously the most handy part of the car (for holding a cuppa whilst working) and also the biggest PITA for always being in the way. Even if I need to change a rear light bulb, I always remove the i/c! Why you no likey Vanny?
Nice work Jay. Good for £200 sheets too. Is she a keeper? Shame you can't wham in the 1.9 of the Xanty cos it sounded rather sweet when you were cold flooring it at Gaydon!
p.s. Get some Speedlines maaaan!

Re: My new toy...
Oh, she's a keeper, just needs a little fettling to reverse the years of neglect.
Plan is to go Valver-esque with it (like Doc has) then i'll be happy to keep it long term...
So, still looking for sideskirts etc. and Wheels, i'm 1 Ph 2 valver rim short. I've been offered a set of Ph1 but would prefer to complete the set i have...
Some anus suggested I should keep it stock as it's a low mile unmolested motor... fuck that, I want it how I want it coz i'm the one owning and driving it!

Re: My new toy...
I should have a straight Speedline P2 spec kicking about mate.
Might be able to help out with some sjirt bits, but I dont have any wheel spats of side pods.
Well not spare anyhow, since I want to P2 Phoenix..

I never heard the ugly fat bird at school say that to me I now feel rather low and inadequate
