LHM pissage from rear of central front subframe
My friend's BX is apparently losing LHM from a T-piece at the back of the subframe. I haven't looked yet, but hope someone can refresh my memory about what feeds through it - I can't find my return pipes diagram (the one from the old bx.org Japanese site with all the connections and all the pipe diameters too).
One feed though the T-piece is the nearside front strut return, but is the other from the pinion valve or the PR? What's suspicious is that he's also had problems with leakage from the big rubber reducing section at the return from the PR.
I don't want to jump to conclusions either way, though I strongly suspect one of those two components could be returning LHM at an unhealthy rate.

On mine the other end of the T is the return from the other front leg, (I think).

it's not the pinion valve, the return from that feeds to the larger pipe that also connects to the PR.
It could be the leak off from the steering ram, although I thought fed in to the security valve Y piece..

Re: LHM pissage from rear of central front subframe
Cheers.Something tells me I will be getting under it to find out. The back axle/subframe tee is definitely fed from both struts, and It'd make sense for the front to be the same, but there's n awful lot less in the way of returns at the back. This particular car has always ben slow to lift at the front, so maybe that's telling me something.
I've since remembered there's a schematic in the book of lies and looked at it: it suggests two front return tees.
(1) from Ram and rear HC.
(2) from safety valve and PR
plus what appears to be an operational return from the FDV, and no tee for the front struts. As if I'd trust that...

well, the fluid returns on either side are part of the octopus, the two vent pipes, er, the NS runs into a pipe (rubber) that runs in the same plastic sleeve as the fluid return, as for they actually go thereafter I cant recall!

Oh, that said the returns from the struts run across the front of the subframe, not the rear..

When I replaced the split LHM return from the security valve, this went into a T on the front subframe.

Yes that's how the Meteor was set up. The TXD is different for some reason?
As you said the rear of the crossframe that's why I said octopussy.

Re: LHM pissage from rear of central front subframe
This is a late TGD estate... still not had a look underneath.
EDIT: Update - about to go looking as my friend went off to Bulgaria for a couple of weeks, has now returned and is still getting pipe blow-offs at both ends of the plastic return pipe leading from PR to to y-piece/T-piece. I found this thread in BCX so am going to see if I can check/replace accumulator - assuming there's nothing wrong with the PR. Anyone here seen anything like it, or care to comment on Anders' diagnosis?

hmmm, I've run the diesel witha flat spehere / leaking check valve for years, never had a pipe blow off, but theorettically it's possible yes.
Is the sphere actually flat on this car though?
I'd be erring towards a fault with the relief valve in the PR jyself, but hard to tell without seeing it really.

Re: LHM pissage from rear of central front subframe
Thanks - can remember something from a long time back with a similar problem, though not the outcome. Just off to look now - he'd left his car at home yesterday, but did tell me there was a lot of hissage and clickage....
On looking, there was one very flat accumulator, now replaced for the time being with a slightly less flat accumulator, though whether that was the cause of the blow-offs remains to be seen.
