:) You had over a 1000 degrees there mate. I mean, I know it's cold an all that .... I take it was frozen diesel on the ground that caught fire :P

Well I'm off to Sweden in the morning. She's just been on line to tell me it's down to -16 there and going colder. They reckon up to -25 by Torsdag.

Seasons greetings to all if I can't get on a computer out there. 8)

all flights etc are good up to now. Bit of a Q on Swedish railways. They say all is fine but listen out for update messages.

See, I'm OK with written stuff, I can read it a couple of times and understand. It's when they just make an announcement once, my ears are just not good enough and brain not quick enough.
It's funny. When you get on the trains they repeat the welcome stuff in English, but the minute owt goes wrong all you get is garbled swedish :P

I think there will be a sufficient supply of öl when I eventually get there. :D

It looks like I can get some time on here, after all. It is very cold, not rose above -12 all day!! Now at 10pm it has warmed to -9 as it has clouded over ready to drop another 1/2 meter of snö, on top of the meter we already have!
Food shopping tomorrow, uggggh!

Curious, -9 eh, do you get colder snow over there then as that would be too cold for snow over here. Our snow only seems to fall when temperature hovers at the zero point. :? .......... [chin] Maybe ice-storms? :?

It snows down to about -5 here when it drops like powder, very small crystals.
Then it blows everywhere like sand dunes.
What did happen was, it warmed to -3 then snowed and snowed and snowed etc.till yesterday lunchtime. Today is beautiful, clear blue sky and sunny and a quite pleasant - 7.
We had 4ft drifts along the road here, which were cleared by the plough which came through about 9 am and the main road to town is clear enough. Having a ride in this afternoon. It`s the most snö they have had here at christmas, for about 20 years.
The ploughs dump their loads in mountain like structures about 4/5 meters high.
The kids then make steps in one side, climb up with their sledges, then bomb it down the other side. It gives them enough thrust to take them about 60 meters. Good fun 8)
