Here's a thought, was that engine related to the 16s engine that was used in the early astra, and mk2 cavalier? if yes, then that engine was later bored out and used in the carlton.....so you may be in luck with that engine mount question....

I don't think so dude. Iirc the 1256cc engine first saw the light of day when Jesus was a lad in such stuff as the HC (and *possibly* HB) Vivas. The Cav Mk2 lumps were (I think) all OHC fwd jobbies, the Carlton being a different engine again.
Alas (as you should all know by now) my technical know how is somewhat fucking shite so no idea what autobox this has exactly.
If anyone finds a Chevette HSR that some old duffer doesn't know the value of please let me know!
