We have a space heater in work that will burn LPG so fast that not only will ice form on the tank at the liquid/gas surface due to evaporation, but the surface area isn't big enough, meaning the evaporation of liquid into useable gas cannot keep up with the rate of consumption, and so you have to either put the bottle a bit in the hot air flow, or give it a good shake every now and then.

It'll burn an entire 47Kg cylinder (the 5' tall ones) in 4 hrs.

Even if we get a dodgy "for cash mate" deal on a 47Kg cylinder, that's still £13 per hour to run it!



Based on that, I'm going to build myself the world's most insulated garage and connect it to the central heating...

Our diesel powered space heater is quite effective.... as long as we remember to either get red diesel, or kerosene to run it with.

Not quite good enough to heat all of Gloucestorshire though...
