I want to find out exactly where the bloody free play is in my GS's front axle/suspension and drivetrain.

It's clonking like a good un at the moment. David R had it through an MOT in April/May and thoroughly checked for wear (and replaced an upper suspension arm that had shot bearings because of a disintegrated end cap). I dunno whether it might be an antiroll bar bearing or what. Also want to get to the bottom of why the brake pads click even though the anti rattle pads are in place, and find out exactly how much free play there should be in a freshly reconditioned pair of driveshafts...

Cheers,

Mark.

The tool truck is rather full of Dennis Lance propshafts at the mo, which I shall unload at the farm before heading north.
Fuck I they be pissing heavy.

Bandit dudemeister, yeah, haul yo ass up Sunday, or sneak away late sat and turn up in the wee small hours, guarenteed we'll still be up, until the beer runs out anyhow.

Erm, there is a gate fee, although it aint much, like a few quid or something, but I've never yet actually paid since the gate is never manned when I arrive! So you may be lucky!

Boy, we OWNED the top field!
And we outnumbered BXC attendees by about 4 to 1, which given the size of our band of merry pissheads is fucking exceptional!

Mat drank enough to make the universe explode, tried to drive his van with his hands and head (you had to be there really), the karaoke was good, he actually can sing, well, although when the wine ran out he lost it, Laura lept into the breach to provide a further glass of grape juice and the tunage came back on key! Fucking fair play to the lad, he should have been dead, but he kept going, and going, and going, and going!

Some random dude I dont know, Fish botherer (David) and Mat rip the karaoke a new arsehole whilst Laura is unimpressed and Vanny films the occasion for posterity!
Image

Then we dragged Mat back to "The BX area" stopping occassionally to fall over and hump C15 Romahomes before he got it on with Vanny...
Image

The following morning, after putting Mat to bed about 300 times, I rather wrecked the tent by opening the car door through it, so, ever the engineers we are, we decide to make an air brake for Smiffy's car to save wear on the service brakes:
Image

Then Vanny spent the rest of his life unfolding every last twist in the Citroen flags...
Image

Was great to meet new faces and catch up with old friends, and obviousley ignore Tim Leech since anything said is bound to be taken the wrong way, who increased his chances in the concours by 100% by entering two well polished cars.

Mat cooks breakfast, even though he REALLY should have been dead by this point...

Vanny loves his flags

You really should have been there dude, infact, I was rather surprised and saddened you weren't TBH.

No fucking excuses next year, or you Bandit, or I'll fucking drag the pair of you to it!

Well, I got back safe and sound yesterday, went out for an anniversary meal (funnily enough I didn't fancy much wine but had to drink something otherwise she'd have been suspicious). In the words of Mr Dyane, I may well have been 'pissed as a lord', the lesson here being "don't mix your red and white wines otherwise you get rather wasted".... Thanks to the dude who supplied me with wine once mine had run out, apologies for trying to set fire to it!
The funny thing was, the first 4 people I saw in the morning (including 2 total strangers) all expressed complete surprise at seeing me:
a) alive
b) walking around

Roll on the next meet up!

glad you made it home with van , body and marraige still in tact,

I guess I am one of the total strangers to which you refer.

perhaps I should put you out of your misery and let you know theat the old boy on the gate said
" If you see someone with grass stains all up there trousers, just say good god you survived "

great to have met you at last, you are fast becoming a legend on Bxp or should that be Leg end.

Oh, and paceing up and down the field while on the phone to err indoors had none of us fooled , we all know you were looking for your swiss army knife.

Odd that everyone else thought the cocktail tasted ok, it was only Mat that didn't!

Maybe he'd have been fine if he had drunk it?!
