A Challenger Tank would complement the collection nicely. :P It's diesels must have some major grunt! 8)

Actually, if you don't want a tank with a gun then the Challenger Recovery Vehicle is a serious piece of logistic kit. No problem in the future for when other things then sink up to their axles in cowshit! :P

Right, can i just say...............

Track rod end, bottom ball joint and some fairly serious front inner wing and strut area welding. Hmmmmmmmm so much for low mileage tidy cars having easy lives.

If it doesn't pass tomorrow I'm gonna punch the tester and set fire to it [chin]

:? Well everyone on here knows that the knob polisher is unconcerned with mechanical or structural integrity and there are enough of uz on here that know where the tin worm hides, to attend when buying if anyone needs it.

Once the front wing is off its easy enuff to weld up the inner as it doesn't matter what it looks like really and waxoyl can be liberally spread too.

 I've made a tool for those. Burnt it out of a piece of 3/8ths plate with a Y only with a rounded shape, at the end, drilled a hole through the tops, welded a piece of hard steel in one end and tapped the other for a hard screw [drool] Just adjust it between the castelations and with a 2ft handle it just unscrews. You just got to make sure you un peen the the peened in bitz properly, or you can be at it a while. :( even with the socket tool.

I've always used the cold chisel / big fuck off and die hammer method. Rarely fails.
Just opted for the tool since it was cheap and I aint bought any tool shit for a while.

Low mileage / well cared for is all bollocks.
Show me ANY BX and I'll find rot in it, they all have some somewhere. Fact.
The biggest bugger with BX's is that they can hide it really fucking well..

Yeah! when I dropped the exhaust and back bumper off mine, there was no rust at all till I started banging. Fortunately it is only in the outriggers and easily fixed. Encouragingly there was none in the usual rear end places, at all!
It was well waxoyled in 1997 but still good and has had another coat after the repairs. The sills were all good except for the metal bungs at the rear end, which disintegrated with a finger poke. :P The rubber surround had stopped it spreading to the sill hole even. I'll get a full rubber one to replace.
Back end back together now and moving towards the front with no issues up to now. Waxoyling in all the box sections as I go. 8)

oh, I got mine ok!
You're welcome to borrow it should the need arise mate.
They are known to fail though, the tool that is, it's a Sealey unit, and I've killed a few of them in the past down the garage, hence I always use chisel and hammer method on mine!

Actually Sealey, i have to ask. Why just put the big 32mm or whatever Hex on the bottom, surely a nice square socket drive would have been an idea, jeeeez tool companies.

ahh, but if they did that they'd have had to have made the tool deeper, using more raw material to allow the taper through see.
The Blue Point (I think) version is long enough to do this and has a 1/2" drive square in it!
