Weather prospects for tomorrow afternoon...

Post by jayw » 22 Dec 2010

Got a log journey planned tomorrow afternoon, from Basingstoke to Kings Lynn...

Anyone along this route got any severe weather issues / road problems? :

A1 (hatfield - stevenage), A505 (baldock - royston - cambridge), A10 thru Ely to Kings Lynn.

(Double posted to BXC for extra bodies)

snow apparently mate. You getting that pikey van?
serious here dude, a mate of my dad's got into trouble towing a van with a bx. Your van looks fairly big and the bx is light as a feather, so take it easy mate

Well, it's all back in one piece, and very impressed with what we got for our money!

FYI, we didn't take the BX (it failed the MOT), i borrowed a mates Nissan Cabstar but even so, i'm not worried about towing it to cornwall with the BX... It drags lurvely (for a tin shack with tyres).

I'll be back...! Aren't YOU a lucky lot...

Bah! Mintysweet!

Well done mate, hope it opens up a great 2011 for you.

Snö still at it here and we have another 24 hrs of it yet, then sun and -17!!!
Snow plough has just cleared our track to the main road, once again.
I kid you not. There is over a meter of lying snö now and it`s six ft deep at the side of the roads where the plough has been.
Hej ho!!!Jägermeister here I come.

Ironically, after all the major components i replaced, it failed on the washer jets & number plate lamps...

My own fault really, i told my tester i was gonna be relying on it heavily for the next 6 months so don't do me any favours (like he normally would). He gave it a proper good going over from top to bottom & found absolutely NO issues with it.

Got a good 'un there me thinks! :D

Didn't even know you had doubts about it .... a good 'un is worth keeping. I deeply regret getting rid of mine (though it was unavoidable as i couldn't afford to keep any car going at the time).

Never had doubts about the car, it was just the question of whether we were going to: 1) Buy a Motorhome and get shot of the BX. 2) Tow a caravan with the BX. 3) Need something a bit meatier to tow a caravan & get rid of the BX.

Fortunately, the caravan comes well within the legal limits for BX towing so it's staying (just need to weight the fucking car down a bit now)
