Erm, right, XM business again.
The XM, when she passed the MOT, was giving an average of 60% braking effort. I need to bleed the brakes anyway, to get some fresh fluid in there and perhaps shift some crud. But, during braking, the rear end rises (like, the BX has NEVER done this and the Xanty didn't either) so I'm wondering what's causing this?
Is it just lack of braking effort on the rear you thinks?

Could be air in the braking circuit, could be low effeciency of the rear brakes, or it could be the dosiuer valve is a bit fucked.
I'd start by bleeding them, that usually cures it!

Try sticking a weight in the boot if it cures it it defo wants the brakes servicing. The BX did that when the corrosion between the arm and the caliper pushed them out of line.
