That's one thing I have learned. In this life there are no absolute truths, but much equivocation.

true, to us at least, but there are absolute truths, it's only humans that corrupt that.
Well, that and lack of knowledge, hence I want to know it all!

Now see, that's me entirely. I want to know everything. I often get asked what makes me so enthusiastic about things at my age (whatever that means)
I just don't know everything ...yet. I read lots about lots of things, I even read labels on sauce bottles, just to see if I missed anything :)

If I got a chance to go round again I think I would study psychology. It's fascinating how people think and react to things, bordering on the discussion we've been having tonight/this morning. 8)

my philosophy is "Because".

Once you accept that as the answer for everything gets so much easier

42?

Well you can try that, but I still prefer "Because".

Why are there Muslim Extreemists blowing shit out of everything?
Because /
42

Which answer works better.

Of course if you get
What is six multiplied by nine?
Because /
42

the latter works better, its wrong, but works better.

No because if I said because I would be asking you a question. Whereas, if I said 42, you would leap out of the woodwork saying Ha Ha your wrong.......................

Deep Subject! :) I'm surprised the second page has been reached without someone mentioning how time distorts the fabric of space according to Einstein.

We could then progress to discussing wormholes. :P

Going back a little, this 'edge' you talk about, what exactly is an edge? Normally its defined as the incidence between two planes or some shit, so for there to be an edge, there would have to be something else after it. If there is nothing outside the edge of the universe, then well it can't be an edge, because there is nothing, and thus it doesn't exist, and thus there is no plane to be incident, and thus the universe can't expand into nothing. Unless there is something, so the probability is that there is something, just no one can figure there pretty heads around what there could be.

Sleepy now.

Well, there MUST be something beyond the edge, but yeah, fuck knows what.

Well yeah! sort of how we got to here, in that folks invent possibilities for what is only a probability.
The brain cannot perceive nothing, it just won't focus on it, giving rise to inventions such as religion.
We seemed to have got away from the abrupt edge, so to speak and decided on a hypothesis of overlapping edges, without deciding what we would overlap into.

Eh? Some religions might be based around the threat of comeuppance in the afterlife, but most of them appear only to empower the few over the weak. They are little more than methods of controling the masses.

Precisely. Inventions by men to do just that, but also to fill the vacuum ie. filling the space of nothingness that the brain cannot focus on.

Like:- there is nothing beyond what we know, so we'll make something up. Which is where we are at. We accept there may well be something out there but we don't know [wtf] it is. So, we all make our own decisions what that may be. Those of us that actually think about it, that is :)
