Not much of a clarckson fan really but. John Bishop the scous comedian just blew everyone away, by becoming the fastest in the Liana by about 3 seconds,
Clarkson says, That's fantastic! Where does a guy from Liverpool learn to drive that fast in somebody else;s car? [chin] [chin]

We're going to see John Bishop in February, he seems pretty funny from what little I've seen on him.

:) Yes he is, in a sort of old fashioned sort of way. Observation type humour.

Unfortuantely he's not scouse. He's from southport and lives in Manchester.

Fucking funny as though!

I always thought his schtick was all an act, and now I've had it proven to me.

My girlfriend met him the other week. Five foot nothing, 24 years old, drives a Fiesta. And he let her drive his very own Aston Martin around the Top Gear test track, with instructions to use all the power and spin it.

What a nice man.

And he's aged badly if he's really only 24 years old...

Bit of background Doc.
Southport lies between Liverpool and Blackpool. It takes silt from the Mersey and the Ribble and over the years this has pushed the tide further and further out and the joke has always been that soon we would be part of eire as there are enough of em here already.
Even the Victorians knew what was happening as they constructed a huge seawater lake to preserve the sea front look. It's sluiced to the sea which does come in abot 3 times a year. Occasionally right into the town centre

You know, it's a place that I've known since childhood, and yet I've never really paid that much attention to it till now. the victorian achitecture is most pleasing to the eye!

It's all been done up in the last 5 years John. The lake has been tidied up and the pier railway re done. All the beach area beyond the funfair and outdoor bathing lake has been rebuilt, with metal sculpture and fancy lighting. It's lost that faded Victoriana look at last. 8)
