Re: ****ING COMPUTERS
What you are describing sounds nothing like what updates could be blamed for.
It sounds as if your keyboard buffer is full and cannot be emptied/processed because the processor is too busy with another running task. Are you playing music or downloading videos at the same time as this happens?
Run Windows Task Manager and inspect what Applications you have running, also Processes to see if there is anything that looks suspicious.
If you're not overloading the computer, you may have a virus that is doing this for you.

Re: ****ING COMPUTERS
Ta! I'll run a scan as I got a message last night saying Safari was pulling a lot of memory and all I was doing was reading and responding to e mails. I have one of those dual core thingies to, so doing several things shouldn't be a problem

Re: ****ING COMPUTERS
OK. I've run a full scan and a root kit scan and all is clear. Opened task manager and all that's running is BXP and control panel?????????????
It's still beeping at me and switching the keyboard on and off, like somebody else is in control of it.
It beeps and the light goes out on the keyboard. Then nothing works whatever I press. Then it beeps again and the light comes on and it works.
The gap between is totally random and can be a few seconds to a minute. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

Re: ****ING COMPUTERS
Have you damaged the keyboard cable/plug?
The light going on and off could suggest you have damage to its power feed! The connection being intermittent then gives these effects.
Easy check is to try another keyboard and see if you still have problem.

Re: ****ING COMPUTERS
Yeah. Pulled out the usb and replaced it several times. The thing is it warns me with this sort of double beeping noise.
Once I start to write, it's ok as long as I don't stop. It's as though it goes, Oh he's stopped I'll have a doze
Fucking annoying though, especially as I will be using it more for work.

Re: ****ING COMPUTERS
What is the character repeat delay set to? Control panel\Keyboard or ControlPanel\input Device\Keyboard. It sounds like the keyboard thinks your pressing the button for too long, maybe, possibly, its hard to tell at this distance.

Re: ****ING COMPUTERS
Hmmm. Well I checked all those Vanny and they are all roughly in the middle of their scales for speed and cursor etc.
Also went into properties and the message "device working properly" appears, when it plainly fucking isn't.
Called her on skype from my colleagues Apple mac book, while in the Gulf, so she didn't have to use it.
Anyway Off to Istanbul first thing Wed and back Saturday, so it can fuck right off for now.
