Mine had a lovely 2-tone paintjob with a lovely rubber Dado Rail running all the way round!

Other (non-optional) extras were:

High-Spec non-functioning rear brakes,
Instant locking handbrake,
Fall off in-your-hand gearknob,
Radio cassette that would only eat tapes & tune to BBC Radio 2,
Seized-to-the-Hub front rims
5-speed Super-Whining gearbox with syncromesh on NO gears
White-Foot inducing clutch judder
Snapped at the hinge drivers seat
Land in-your-lap rearview mirror
(My old favorite) 45 degree steering play

And not forgetting as previously mentioned, Quick Release rear axle!

Oh, nearly forgot: Wooden Dash trim straight from Homebase (although it was Texas Superstores back in them days).

I have to say, I can't remember ANY cortina with an original fitment 5 speed box, (many years ago, my mate had a 2.0 ghia, and that didn't even have a 5 speed...I guess it was retro fitted from a sierra?

Like I said it's the top hat section that the brackets were supposed to be attached to 8)
