Stop lamp came up on the xanty today but it was flickering and as we were pushed for time I pushed on, suspecting slow coolant loss! When we got to the car park the lamp was on permanently and a quick top up with water did nothing. The stop lamp stuck two big fingers up at me and my water and suggested I look greenward. Sure enough, my rear end was leaking green blood and a puddle lay laughing on the tarmac!
After watching Mary Effin Poppins fly over my head for the umpteenth time we returned to the car where luckily I had a full litre of LHM to feed the Xanty gimp!
Thankfully, the top up did the job to get us home but now I have to squirm about underneath my gimp to stop the leakage! I had family time planned! The next vehicle I buy may well be bloodless cos it's all just shit I don't really need!

It's not uncommon for the anti sink valve pressure cap to fail and piss fluid out at a fair rate of knots.
I did a front one on Friday.
Happily the car was a 19TD with no ABS, so the little fecker was easy to get at.

Dont get any of that shit ona bX of course!

Its great - I got a 12 month old CDTi for £8 grand - problem is the bloody DPF antipoloution shite thats incorporated on it - its needed a whole new exhaust , cat and DPF since we got it. Utter utter crap for such a "young" car. On the plus side it ferrys the wife, kids and mother in law about with ease - why the fook Citroen didnt put an extra row of seats in the new Blingo I domt know - I bet they loose out to Foiat there.

Anti sink pressure cap failure eh? Damn stoopid thing. Am gonna compete the BX and then look at the Xanty....it looks fairly accessable by removing the spare wheel carrier....

Now I thought anti-sink was only on the back mate - where's the fucker on the front?? Citroen don't half over complicate things

some where down behind the gearbox i seem to remeber being told, never seen one of the fuckers myself though.

The front anti sink valve is under the LHM tank, and looks an awful lot like the security valve, which is directly under it.

I'm not saying it's defo the anti sink valve mind, just that they are known to blow green blood out the caps.
As in, we've done bloody hundreds of the things over the last couple of years.

so it's just possible it may be that then?
