Pretty new website

Post by Vanny » 02 Sep 2009

Well you've seen the preview of the new site, didnt say much so i guess you loved it, so i've put it into production. The intention is to have the forum embedded directly into the front page, might take a short while to perfect, but initial attempts have been good.

New site will feature a calendar at a minimum (probably a google calendar mind), but i'm open to suggestions!

Well it wouldn't let me in from the main page. It kept saying my password didn't match your records.
Went into the home page and logged in ok from there.

Just now when I clicked on to load the page, it wouldn't load, but when I added / forum into the address, it loaded straight away????????????????????????????????????????? [chin] [chin]

Ahhh, I think there's a reason for that....
Cant remember what though.

I'm sure I said at the time it looked good mate, just needed a tad of tidying up.

I had a similar experience too - can log in via the forum but not the BXP homepage (though I'm sure I've experienced this before). Are they perchance not using the same userlist database?

what are you on about Phil? the address of the forum has not changed, and there was only a picture link between the old site and forum. If you bother to read the new front page you'll see there is a forum link on it, working just the way the old site did. Nothing fundamental has changed.

In time the two data bases will be linked, but still wont make much difference as it will simply allow you to log in and view the froum from the front page, the forum address (and the files) remain unchanged, but skinned.

I've found the link now Vanny. Had to put my glasses on. The text doesn't say FORUM in big letters like it used to.

Okays Phil, will change it when i get home (ie add a pretty link), though my intention is to have the two linked so you log into one and both. Have had problems getting it to work on my test machine though so i'm in no rush!

I do too, but I suppose it means that it's then easy to miss anything new on the front page unless it's referred to on the forum. :)

Just had a thought Doc, if you're now admin status on BXC does that mean that you're now responsible for the content on the BXC web pages too? :?
