Re: Droplinks
angle grinder, it will seriously save hou an hour or two, failing that a 'nut splitter' will speed things up no end, its not the bottom connection but the top connect that is the PITA

Set of allen keys - IIRC I've seen some that have a hex inside the threaded part to stop them turning when you tighten up the nuts. I would put money on the allen key being useless when removing though!

Re: Droplinks
Some have a hex yes, others have a flat that you can use a pair of mole grips or a 6mm spanner on, but as Vanster said, by far the easiest way is nutsplitter or cut the lot off with a grinder, being careful on the O/S link not to cut through the bottom hose...

20 mins a side!
Erm, yes Phil, I did have a slight moment of bottom hose cuttage whilst paying more attention to a rather lovely female walking past the gate!

Re: Droplinks
A mate of mine wrote off 6 cars a few years back with a coach. He was so distracted by this woman who was walking up the road, pretty much naked, and faild to notice the queue of cars at the temporary traffic lights, never touched the brakes! Until it was too late, he kept his job too.. ahh, those were the days!

Re: Droplinks
We had to laugh at a mate doing a similar thing a few years back........its quite hard to explain to the insurance co that your motorcycle is written off because you were watchinmg some birds arse and plowed into a parked car!!! How we laughed (at him)
