With the wiring complete, tax and insurance in place, it was finally time for me to take the Ford 7610 on its first drive. What could possibly go wrong?

With the Fergie starting reliably it was time for topping the field. But first, we needed to check the hydraulic system and adapt the PTO.

Despite the expectation not to change the 6v Fergie starter motor, it finally died. A new starter was installed and reliability regained.

With the Fergie electrics overhauled, it was time to focus on the weak spark of the ignition and the rusty fuel tank
